For the Sinful Sunday prompt of "one shot two ways" I give you a couple views of the same view but slightly different. Click the lips below and see all the inventive ways other people are interpreting this prompt! Happy Sunday
For all my loves at the end of Pride month, may we all live to fight and hope and laugh and pray and cry and survive and persevere and exceed and overcome and love and love and love for yet another year. For all those who didn't make it to this year, we see you, We remember you. You are not forgotten.
I've been focusing on my health this year, shedding some bad habits around food and alcohol, getting back to the gym regularly, losing some weight... I have a lot of clothes in smaller sizes that I can't wear yet, which is a supreme annoyance for someone who travels as much as I do. So I gave myself the ultimatum that I figure out how to fit into the them by the end of the year or I get rid of them. It's all working. My habits are changing, I am losing weight. But in the process I'm realizing that even when I do wear these clothes again, I won't ever look the same as I did 2 years ago or 5 years ago or 10 years ago. That's a hard realization some days. There are a lot of things I like about getting older but I just wish I LOOKED younger without actually being younger. Is that too much to ask??? It is. I know. So this one is for all you other hot old ladies out there who are also going through it. May your asses stay forgetful as long as possible! And Happy Sunday
I have a desire for so many things right now. I feel like this picture, with my focus on something beyond me, in the endless distance. Progress is slow. Patience is everything... Sigh. Happy Sunday
The prompt for today was "outtake," which is somewhat excruciating. Like all photographers, I take a lot of pictures I don't post. Some are terrible - in composition or lighting or unflattering or something... - but some are just too similar to other shots or I have too many pictures where I'm wearing something specific and I get tired of the look before I run out of pictures to post. Technically this outtake prompt could involve any of those pictures I describe above but it's tricky to post a picture that isn't what I intend, or it's not as good as I want it to be. However, in the interests of honesty and because I'm curious what other people post for this prompt, I picked this pic. It's a picture that I took while I was trying to get a different shot. Honestly, none of the shots I took that day worked for me. I was angling to get a particular kind of look to satisfy a quote I had found and I didn't like anything I came up with. This shot was a bit different in that it had some elements I liked but I couldn't quite like it enough. I tried cropping it and liked it better But there is still something about the perspective, lighting, color combos, too "on the nose" imagery... I don't know. Something didn't sit right with me so I didn't consider using it until I saw Molly's prompt. So here it is. It's hard to embrace a picture that I'm not totally behind, so to speak. And it's vulnerable to show messiness and process. But that's ok. As Voltaire points out, perfection can be an enemy. And it can also be boring. Whereas a mess will always be interesting, if nothing else! Happy outtake Sunday everyone! Dinner plans? Mary gaped at Come-N-Save’s hothouse cucumbers, still sheathed in thin plastic (seamed for her pleasure): it had been too long since she had a proper salad. With a firm cucumber nestled in her basket, she wandered the produce aisles gently squeezing plump round tomatoes and flicking wet droplets off a long hard carrot with a curved tip that suddenly looked very familiar. Mary’s cheeks flushed. She gasped as she plunged an experimental finger into a ruffled head of lettuce, lightly pressing on the tight small bud at the core, and made a decision. Sucking the moisture off her finger, she left damp marks on her phone as she texted “You should come over tonight.” She smiled. Now to find the perfect creamy dressing. I wrote this for the second round of last year's smut marathon. The first line was the prompt, written by Su Orwell in the first round, and the assignment was 100 word microfiction to finish the story. Even within the challenge of the word constraints, I enjoyed my own personal challenge of writing something erotic without a single bit of sex in it. However, this entry was one of the ones I liked more than any other voters did. But I still like it. Plus now it has a picture to go with it. :) Happy Sunday everyone. |
