Cracks are good. That's how change arrives and the light gets in.

White skin and white wine in soft smoky light... I am inarticulate appetite...

When I first started posting pictures on this blog, I captioned each picture with a quote. I loved the way the words and the pictures interacted and fed off of each other. But I quickly realized that my audience could easily disregard the words and just look at the pictures. So, last year I started adding text to my pictures by writing directly on the photo using a stylus and a sketching app. 

Now the words and the visuals were intertwined, which solved the problem of people ignoring the words. However, I then discovered that certain pictures didn't lend themselves to text. Either I couldn't find a place on the picture that I could write or the picture was good as it was and adding text was overkill. Or no words really fit or worked with the visuals. 

I spent a lot of time looking for some confluence of the ideal picture that lacked a little something, the perfect quote that elevated the picture just a touch and then combining the two to make each element more together than they would be apart. Some pictures succeeded better than others.

But then I missed the looseness of just taking pictures. I felt like I was falling into the trap of taking the same kinds of pictures over and over, or worse, not taking pictures and posting far less often.

So this month I'm gonna play around without any constraints. Since I've committed to posting every day, I won't have time to overthink it. I have to just pick something and post.

Today, a tiny star tattoo and a spark of thought about destiny. Also, cleavage.
